My Story

I was born in Scotland and come from a long line of mediums or ‘fey folk'. My brothers and I were brought up to believe in fairies, angels and spirit folk. My mother was a medium and father was an atheist.  It was an interesting childhood, we would often come home from school to find the house full of gypsies. Mum would be in the kitchen reading tea leaves for the women while dad was giving the men a 'wee whiskey' for the road telling them that tarot and crystal balls were all rubbish. Did I mention my childhood was interesting?

As a child I was aware of the spirit world but chose to ignore it so that I wouldn’t be different to the other children. I desperately wanted to fit in and be liked so I kept quiet about mum and the gypsies. Needless to say it didn't work!

My mum often told me that I had the gift and could read the cards if I wanted to. I wondered what planet she lived on as those cards were just bits of cardboard to me. Mum always said "when I die you'll get the gift whether you want it or not".  Yeah, right, was my response. I played with my abilities through my teenage years and then pushed it away when I got married at the ripe old age of eighteen. No, I didn't listen to my mother!

In 1998 my beloved parents passed over within two months of each other. I was devastated and began my quest to find a medium to contact my parents. All I wanted was proof that there was something after death and that my parents were still around. Well didn't I go to some quacks! My dad used to say there was nothing after you died and I was beginning to believe him until I was guided to the lovely Ruthie Phillips. Ruthie is a genuine medium and was the only one to give me the proof that I so desperately longed for. The reading with Ruthie gave me hope and peace of mind, and she also encouraged me to develop my own gifts. It was shortly after this that I decided to help others like myself and began studying. 

Since then I have become a Reiki Master, Colour Therapist, Energy Healer, Animal Healer, Past Life Hypnotherapist, Clairvoyant-Medium and Spirit Artist. If that wasn’t enough my guides decided to push me into another career and I am now an authorised Civil Marriage Celebrant. Whew!  I hope they are happy because I am too old to study anything else.

When I began my journey my sole purpose was to contact my mum, but I have received so much pleasure from helping others to contact their own loved ones and to see that there is life after death. Don’t you just hate it when your mother was right!
